Apple posted a press release today in which they say they sold 1,000,000 preordered iPhones in the first 24 hours of preordering alone. Mind you those are preorders from only 7 countries. This report followed the one from AT&T, who reported they sold 200,000 iPhones in the first 12 hours or preorders. Tweet

Apple’s previously exclusive US carrier AT&T has received more that 200,000 preorders in the first 12 hours of sales of the iPhone 4S. Initially the iPhone 4S got the cold shoulder from the masses, I think the now record breaking preorders might be related to Steve Jobs’ death, a day after the launch. Tweet
